Gerald Carl Snyder was born July 30, 1941, and passed away September 10, 2025, at the age of 84.
He grew up with a deep appreciation for nature and a strong sense of responsibility. From a young age, he understood the value of hard work, a lesson he carried with him throughout his life. Whether he was clocking long hours to provide for his family or helping a neighbor in need, Gerald always led by exampe, with calloused hands and a generous heart.
Gerald found peace on the water, fishing rod in hand, often up before dawn to catch the sunrise over his favorite lake or river. Fishing wasn’t just a hobby; it was a way for him to connect with nature, with loved ones, and with himself. He often said that the quiet moments on the water taught him more than any book ever could.
But above all else, he loved his family. He was devoted to always putting his loved ones first. He took pride in being the rock of his family, steady, reliable, and loving. Whether it was fixing something around the house, offering words of wisdom, or simply showing up when it mattered most, his presence was a comfort and a constant.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Virginia Snyder; sibling, Jim Snyder, Susie Snyder, and Kenny Snyder; numerous extended family members, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his sons, Gerald A Snyder, and Raymond Lee Snyder; parents, Charles and Edith Snyder.
