Once again storms in the lakes area have made the Sabine River Authority open all 11 gates to two feet Tuesday afternoon.
After Saturday’s rains they opened five gates at one foot and the water in Toledo Bend still rose. The same thing happened when they opened all 11 gates at one foot with the lake at 172.7. Heavy rains returned Tuesday and with all gates open one foot, the lake rose to 172.96 and that’s when they decided to open all gates to two feet with a CFS of 35,204. Full pool is 172′.
Low level flooding, the same that the area has dealt with for almost two months, is expected to continue.
