
We’ve had several “flooding events” that has made the Sabine River Authority open the gates but for the first time this year, the gates were opened up to four feet on Wednesday.
KOGT.com reported on Tuesday that the gates were opened to two feet but on Wednesday they reported opening the gates to three feet and then Wednesday afternoon opened all 11 gates to four feet. The total release is now 57,524 cfs.
The elevation at Toledo Bend when they opened the gates to four feet was 173.32. NOAA is predicting the Sabine River at Deweyville to be close to 27 feet by June 10. Flood stage is 24 feet.
