
Gary Dean Jerdee
January 3, 1958 – July 29, 2021
Memorial Services for Gary Dean Jerdee, 63, of Conroe, Texas will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Calvary Baptist Church in Deweyville (2335 TX-12, Deweyville, TX 77614). Gary passed away at his home on July 29, 2021.
Gary was born in Orange, Texas, to James ”Jim” Vernon Jerdee and Arline Loretta Morphew Jerdee on January 3, 1958. Gary was a graduate of West Orange-Stark High School in 1976. He received his bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology from Lamar University Beaumont in 1983.
He began his working career at Gulf Oil Company as a Lab Technician in Orange, Tx. Gary was an instrumental member of TAPPI, the world’s largest technical association for paper and related industries, since 1986. He labored diligently and progressed through all of the chairs and ranks of TAPPI’s divisional leadership until he reached the top. He received many awards along the way while working for Chevron Phillips Chemical Co. in Orange. He had a prestigious career at Chevron where he helped with numerous patents. He later held positions at Cloeren Co. and Black Clawson Co. before he returned to Chevron and moved to Conroe, Texas where he retired. After “retiring,”
Gary started his own company, Jerdee Enterprises, LLC., and created more patents in the plastic industry. The family joked that Gary would always be the president of something, even if it was just a coffee club in his old age. Gary was an avid fisherman and outdoors person. He had a green thumb and could grow anything. Gary was the person that everyone counted on to be there for them. He was incredibly generous. Holiday gatherings at his home over the years were always cherished.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Arline; siblings, Jerry Dale Jerdee and Loretta Faye Hickman; Grandparents, Marie Day Burch and George Burch; and his sister-in-law, Debbie Jerdee. Gary is survived by his wife, Marion Donohoe Jerdee and son, Alex Clayton Gray of Montgomery, TX; siblings, Judiann Nolan (Tom) of Rosepine, LA, Tommy Lynn Jerdee of Bridge City, TX , Donna Sue Jerdee of Biloxi, MS and 3 generations of nieces and nephews, and a plethora of friends.
