Area soccer teams battled opponents and heavy rain Friday night.
The Vidor boys opened district with a 5-0 win over Silsbee. Mario Algora had the hat trick with three goals. Rui Correia and Andre Ribeiro scored the other two. The defensive shutout was lead by AJ Wise, Braiden Ramos, Martin Gutierrez and Jared Marlowe.
The Vidor Lady Pirates also opened district with a shutout win, defeating Silsbee 7-0.

LCM defeated Jasper 3-1.
Lady Bears game was ppd. to Saturday where they defeated Jasper 7-1.

BC girls lost to Hardin-Jefferson 4-0.
BC boys were up on H-J 1-0 when the game was called because of rain. They’ll resume on Monday at 5pm.
