
Tough day for the ladies as LCM and Orangefield were eliminated Friday. The Orangefield boys move to the third round and Bridge City can join them if they win one game Saturday.
The LCM Lady Bears lost to Bullard 7-1 as the Panthers scored all seven runs in the first four innings of the game. That included a HR giving them three in the series. LCM had four hits, one each for Lexis Moss, Tessa Erickson, Ella Stephenson, and Kinsley Doucet. The Lady Bears end the season 28-11 and Bullard (31-6-1) will face the Robinson/Burnet winner.

The Orangefield Lady Bobcats ended their season with a 7-0 loss to East Bernard in Crosby. The Lady Bobcats end the season with a record setting 28 wins finishing 28-11-1.

BASEBALL
The Orangefield Bobcats completed the sweep of Tarkington with a 7-0 win at Lamar. Cameron Dearing carried the offense going 3-3 with a double, triple, and 4 RBI’s. Kaleb Menard got the win giving up no earned runs on three hits in 5innings with 6K’s. Garrett Rawls pitched two innings of hitless baseball with 5K’s. They will play Diboll in the third round.

The Bridge City Cardinals took Game One against Bullard 3-2. Bullard scored in the first and the Cards responded with two in the bottom as John VanHuis lead off with a double. Hunter Ford bunted and an error throw scored VanHuis. Austin Frederick would drive in Ford with a single.
In the third, Ford walked and then Frederick tripled to score Ford. Bullard threatened in the sixth when they scored a run. But the tying run was left at second when VanHuis caught a liner for the third out.
Frederick was hot going 3-3 with 2 RBI’s. Landon Reeves pitched a complete game for the win. Gm. 2 is Saturday at 5pm.
