Pat Pullen filed Wednesday to run for his second three-year term on the Orange City Council. Pullen holds the Single-Member District 1 seat and is so far the only person to file for the position.
On Tuesday, local bishop-pastor Charles Ray Thomas filed to run for mayor against city council member Larry Spears.
Spears is having to give up his At-Large Position 6 seat because of rules under the city charter. Businessman Paul Burch has filed to run for the at-large seat and has no challengers.
Filing for the May 5 city election will end Friday at 5 p.m.
For the Single-Member District 1 seat, candidates must live within the district’s boundaries and only registered voters who live in the district vote for the position.
