
Mason Gonzales slides under the tag during the three run sixth inning as the Orangefield Bobcats beat LCM 3-1 Friday.
The game was tied at one with the Bobcats batting in the bottom of the sixth when Johnny Armstrong singled, driving in two runs. The pitching was strong on both sides. Ryon Stubblefield struck out 11, while LCMs Slade Green sat down three. Stubblefield earned the win for Orangefield. He went seven innings, giving up one run, six hits, striking out 11, and walking one. Dylan Anthony, Stubblefield, Mack Patterson, Johnny Armstrong, Mason Gonzales, and Brett Fregia each managed one hit to lead the Bobcats. Orangefield was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit an error. The Bobcats (12-3, 2-1) will continue district play next week, traveling to West Orange Stark on Tuesday. The Bears fall to 0-3.

SOFTBALL
LCM shutout Orangefield 5-0. Frenzel struck out 10 for the win. Toomey and James had 3 hits each while Murdock and Short had 2. The Lady Bears had 13 hits on the evening that saw a 40 minute delay after the lights went out.

BC beat WOS 19-0 in 3 innings. Kassidy Wilbur and Summer Black combined on the no-hit victory. Wilbur was also 4-4 with 2 HR’s and 6 RBI’s.

Deweyville defeated Hull-Daisetta 3-0. The Lady Pirates also played error free defense.
