What a time for the Game of the Year, the last game of the regular season between LCM and BC for the District Title.
The Bears had a 5-1 lead after three when the Cardinal bats came alive, scoring six runs in the fourth, taking a 7-5 lead. They would add three more in the seventh to make it 10-5 and people were starting to ask what time would the game start on Saturday. But the Bears had other plans.
With TWO OUTS in the bottom of the seventh, Dreyden Cook singled in Jakson Struwe. Jacob Scheiderer singled to score Marco Bandiero and then Parker Freeman doubled to score Cook and Scheiderer to make it 10-9.
BC would bring in Brady Havard to pitch and Raney would deliver with a double to score Freeman and tie the game at 10 and send it to extra innings.
Karson Potter would take down the Cards in order in the eighth on fly balls by Max Pachar and Slade Landry and a ground out by Owen Tucker.
In the bottom of the eight, Darby would start with a lead off single and Parker Seago would sacrifice him to second. Struwe walked to put two on and BC would intentionally walk Bandiero for the sixth time in the game to load the bases but they only needed one.
Cook would deliver. A deep fly into left center, scoring Darby and giving the Bears the come from behind win and the district title.
