The Vidor Pirates wrapped up second place in the district with a 12-2 win over Jasper. Bryce Bushelle struck out 7 and walked just one in the victory. Leadoff hitter Westin Baker was on fire at the plate going 3-4 with 4 RBI’s and 2 runs scored.

Bridge City beat WOS 13-3. John Van Huis was a homerun away from the cycle, collecting two singles, a double and a triple to finish 4-5 with 3RBI’s and two runs scored. Three BC pitchers combined for 13 strikeouts, nine of those coming from Max Pachar. The four hits by the Mustangs were collected by Zach Nation, Noah Robles, Diego Ibarra, and Grayson Gregory.

LCM lost to Silsbee 4-2 to stop their seven game win streak. Tiger pitcher Matsyn Morris struck out 11 Bears. The loss put the Bears in third place in the district.

The Orangefield Bobcats defeated the Lufkin Hudson Hornets 5-4 on Friday night. The Bobcats jumped out to a 4 run lead behind big hits from Cameron Dearing and Caleb Fregia.
Fregia was 2 for 3 with 3 RBI on the night. Kane Smith, Logan Cheek, and Camden Fountain also had hits for the Bobcats. Brycen Tait started the game, lasting 3.2 inning with zero earned runs allowed. Carson Gonzales and Garrett Rawls entered in relief. Rawls earned the win, throwing the final 2 innings allowing zero runs, zero hits, and 2 strikeouts.
The Bobcats improve to 21-7 on the year and will face the Woodville Eagles next week in the bi-district round of playoffs. Game One is Thursday at 4:30pm at Lamar University. Game 2 is Friday at 7pm at Cleveland HS and Game 3, if necessary, is Saturday at 2pm in Cleveland.
