TPWD Weekly Fishing Report Week of June 18, 2025
Sam Rayburn
GOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.45 feet above pool. Bass are shallow early in the pencil and hay grass with topwater baits. Then bass move to points and drains with Carolina rigs and jigs. Crappie are slowly moving to brush piles, with a better bite on the south end of the lake and Ash Bayou. Jigs and minnows are working equally. Bluegill are on brush piles. Catfish are transitioning from the creeks to the main lake on points and channel bends with cut bait or stink bait. Report by Captain Lynn Atkinson, Reel Um N Guide Service.
Toledo Bend
GOOD. Water stained; 86 degrees; 0.61 feet below pool. Bass fishing is still good. The shallow bite has been productive with topwater lures. A few anglers have also been flipping jigs and beavers into the flooded bushes and hay grass. Most of these shallow fish are coming from 1-4 feet of water. The deeper bite has also been good, out to about 27 feet. Texas rigs and Carolina rigs have been most effective, with a few fish also coming on big crankbaits and football jigs. Crappie fish has been a little off lately due to the big storms over the past week. The rising water and strong winds have made it tough, as crappie do not typically like those conditions. However, things should start to improve in the next couple of days. Brush piles and main lake docks have been the most consistent spots, with both jigs and live bait working. Please watch out for deer as it is the middle of fawn season, and they are actively crossing roads. If you see a deer, please slow down because it is a dangerous time of year for those small fawns. Report by Stephen Johnston, Johnston Fishing.

SALTWATER
Sabine Lake
GOOD. 82 degrees. Fishing between the rain did produce some limits on nice slot speckled trout and some oversize trout on shelf flats, and more redfish than weeks past at the jetties and Sabine Channel with live shrimp on a popping cork. Best bite is during the incoming tides. Sheephead and drum are biting in the jetties with Carolina rigged live shrimp on the rocks, and on rock piles in the Sabine Channel. Water is stained and muddy. Report by Captain Randy Foreman, Captain Randy’s Guide Service Sabine Lake.
Bolivar
GOOD. 78 degrees. This week will be a little cloudy with a splash of sun this weekend for great fishing like last week! Check the daily forecast or call your favorite bait shop for updates. The tides and water levels will be changing from 3-4 to twice daily Saturday. Water temperatures in the upper 70s. Water levels are back and forth per normal with a lot of sargassum washing in. Anglers are still catching plenty of redfish, gafftop and black drum everywhere. There are plenty of keeper speckled trout being caught along with sand trout, sheepshead and crabs caught along the jetty. The flounder are here for the Spring but mostly small males. The bigger stingrays and sharks are definitely here and the real action has begun. We saw more and more sharks again while shrimping in the bay the past few days. Report by Captain Shane Rilat, North Jetty Bait Camp.
