Born in West Virginia, on March 17, 1959, he was the son of Robert Collins and Jeannette Maze Collins. Freddie was not just a father; he was a dedicated caretaker and an inspiring role model for his children and grandchildren. His love for family was evident in everything he did. An avid enthusiast of automobiles and motorcycles, Freddie found joy in working on cars. His passion extended to the open road, where the rumble of a motorcycle brought him excitement and freedom. Freddie also relished the simple joys of life, especially spending time at the beach, where the waves were as free-spirited as he was. His adventurous nature and ability to make friends easily meant that he never encountered a stranger; he had an uncanny knack for connecting with people from all walks of life. Known for his readiness to help others, Freddie was a true embodiment of generosity. Regardless of what he was doing, he was always willing to drop everything to lend a hand to anyone in need. His warmth and willingness to assist defined him as a good brother, uncle, and friend to many. Freddie was also a devoted member of Silver Oaks Baptist Church in Mauriceville, where he found community and fellowship. His faith was an important part of his life, guiding him in his interactions and commitments. As we remember Freddie, we honor a man whose kindness, free spirit, and love for his family have created a lasting impact on those who were fortunate enough to know him.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Jeannette Collins; and his sister, Nancy.
He is survived by his children, Robert, Josh, Rachel, Helen and Christopher; his siblings, Helen, Ann, Mike, Myrtle, and Karen; his many grandchildren, and numerous other loving family members and friends.
