The Regional Track Meets are in the books and we’re glad to announce four of our area athletes will be making the trip to Austin to compete in the State Track Meet May 11-13.
Bridge City’s Morgan Louvier was the first to punch her ticket with a second place finish in the 4A Pole Vault. Louvier jumped 11-3 on Friday to place second behind Barrett Boyd of Gatesville (11-6). Louvier, a senior, will compete on May 11 at 3pm.
LCM’s Amier Washington threw the shot 53-6 to place second behind TJ Davis of Center (53-9). Washington also finished sixth in the discus. The Texas Tech commit will compete in the 4A throw in Austin on May 11 at 10:30am.
Vidor’s Raegan Stephenson will be making her second State appearance in the high jump. She won the 4A Regionals on a cold windy day with a jump of 5-5. The junior will jump in Austin on May 11 at 9am.
And in Class 2A, Deweyville’s Noah Watson jumped a personal best 44-2 to win the triple jump down in Kingsville. Watson will jump in Austin on May 12 at 1pm.
Also joining our area athletes at State are H-F Pole Vaulter Grayson Mueller (2nd, 14-6) and Lumberton’s Eli Cowart who won the 400 (49.72).
