The Popeye’s on Link Ave. in Orange received an 86.
Inspectors saw a live mouse in the hot water closet and spider webs inside the drive thru area and in the back storage area.
Also none of the food handlers employed had taken and passed the food handler certification. The establishment was put on notice for an exterminator and given a date of Feb. 5 to have all handlers succesfully passing the course.
Popeye’s was also cited for their walk in cooler repairs, water heater that only reached 69 degrees when 85 is required. Employees must also wear hairnets if they’re wearing visors.

The Texas Seafood and Steakhouse in Bridge CIty received an 84.
Inspectors found rice noodles at improper temps and stored above microwave, food uncovered in coolers and freezers, and two makeshift beds in the dry storage room.
Inspectors called a BC Building Official about the floors in the walk-in cooler needing repairs. A follow up will be made.

Seafood Shack in Bridge City received a 91.
Inspectors found all food handler certificates out of date. Also no date marking found on food and all vent-a-hoods need to be cleaned of old grease. An employee was seen dropping a chicken wing on the floor and then washing it off and prepped for cooking.
