
Gift of Life Provides Free Healthcare Screenings
for Medically Underserved Men in Orange

Who: The Julie Rogers “Gift of Life” Program, Orange County Disaster Rebuild, the Southeast Texas Food Bank and local supporters, medical partners and physicians
What: During June’s National Men’s Health Month, the Gift of Life will provide free vital healthcare services and educational materials for eligible Southeast Texas men. Services include consultations with medical professionals and screening tests that include prostate-specific antigens (PSA), blood glucose and cholesterol, HIV, Hepatitis C and blood pressure.
Generous donations of fresh produce and boxed food from the Southeast Texas Food Bank and Orange County Disaster Rebuild will be provided to screening clients and their families. Disaster relief case management will also be available.

Where: West Orange-Stark High School, 1400 Newton Street, Orange
Why: The Gift of Life’s essential screenings address the ever-increasing need for healthcare services in our region, particularly for medically underserved men.
Since 2000, the Gift of Life has made available more than 9,000 free prostate cancer screenings and helped extend the lives of 74 men who have been diagnosed with prostate cancer and whose diagnostic and cancer treatment costs were entirely underwritten by the Gift of Life.
