Around 6:45 Monday evening the Orange Fire Dept was called to International Apartments off Meeks Dr. where an apartment in “O” building caught fire. Residents banged on doors to get the other residents out.
Flames were scene shooting from the balcony before firefighters arrived. They were able to keep the fire from spreading but other apartments received smoke damage. The man who rents the space said he was at another apartment in the complex when he was notified that his apartment was on fire.
The fire marshal was called in and the cause is under investigation.
