At approximately 6:00p.m. Tuesday, the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a one vehicle crash on Interstate 10 in Orange County. The crash involved a truck tractor semi-trailer and occurred near mile marker 860.
Initial reports indicate that the 18-wheeler hauling steel pipes was traveling eastbound on the Interstate. For an unknown reason, the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck the concrete wall. After the impact, the 18-wheeler caught fire. There were no reports of any injuries. All eastbound traffic lanes were closed for several hours and the westbound lanes were closed for sometime because of the smoke covering the roadway.
