The Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers are investigating a fatal crash on Interstate Highway 10 near the 858-mile marker that occurred Thursday, August 28, 2025.
The preliminary crash investigation indicates that at approximately 5:40 p.m., a Freightliner truck tractor semi-trailer was traveling west and stopped in the center lane due to traffic and was rear ended by a Harley-Davidson motorcycle.
The driver of the truck tractor, from Houston, was not injured.
The rider of the motorcycle, 47 year old Derrick Brockington of Connecticut, was pronounced deceased on scene by a Justice of the Peace.
