A family lost their home and their dog on Easter after a fire Sunday afternoon.
Firefighters from Deweyville along with Emergency Services District 3 & 4 were called to the home on County Road 4191 in Newton County near Hartburg. When they arrived the home was fire was coming through the roof.
The preliminary cause is believed to be electrical. None of the family were injured but it was reported they did lose a family pet.
People at the scene said the home was once owned by the Stark family before it was moved years ago to Newton County.
