Ezra Lee Gordon, Jr., age 85 of Orange, Texas, passed away on Tuesday, October 22, 2019 in Lumberton, Texas. Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 26, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Damon Bickham and Rev. Phil Holder officiating. Interment will follow at Deweyville Cemetery. Family and friends will gather from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Friday, October 25, 2019 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Ezra was born in Orange, Texas on January 8, 1934 to Nellie Taylor Gordon and Ezra Lee Gordon, Sr. He proudly served in the United States Marines and graduated from Victoria College with a Bachelors of Science Degree. He enjoyed playing football while attending high school, college and the US Marines. For a number of years he served as a Mason with the Madison Lodge 126 in Orange Ezra had been a fireman for 42 years and served as the Assistant Fire Chief for Orange, before becoming a Fire Instructor at Lamar. He loved to hunting, fishing with his grandchildren. Ezra was kind and loving man that always found time to be with his family, whether it was coaching football, little league baseball or soft ball. He will be greatly missed by so many.
He is preceded in death by his parents Ezra and Nellie Gordon, Sr., son Shane Jones and four brothers; Danny Gordon, Johnny Gordon, Tommy Gordon and Jimbo Gordon.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Patsy Ruth Stephens Gordon, son Shon Jones and his wife Sarah of Arkansas, daughters; Elizabeth Owen and her husband Gregory of Austin, TX, Laurie Sills and her husband Ronald of Lumberton, TX, Sheenah Gordon of Orange, TX, Chandra Allen and her husband David of Port Neches, TX and Cynthia Luquette and her husband Keith of Beaumont, TX.
Pallbearers will be Sasha Milligan, Jadin Meads, Kade Allen, Logan Sills, James Sills, Luke Jones, Jake Jones and Dustin Sills.
