A boat that has been sunk in the bayou near the Bridge City boat ramp was being removed Tuesday according to County Judge John Gothia. “The General Land Office is finally here in Bridge City with a contractor to pull a couple of sunken boats that have been in Cow Bayou and plaquing Cow Bayou now for several years especially the one that is right there on the highway at the boat ramp that should be removed today.” Gothia reported.
The boat that could be seen from State Highway 87 was the most visible sunken boat. The state is looking to remove more sunken vessels in southeast Texas from various waterways including two or three more in Orange County.
