For two straight days some 4000 Entergy customers in North Orange, Little Cypress and Mauriceville have had to deal with power outages during the daytime hours. After the sun went down Sunday night, just over 100 customers on the north end of FM1130 were still without power.
A customer service manager with Entergy said problems at a substation in the area caused the power outage Saturday. Workers were able to move some power and make some temporary repairs before sundown. A cold Sunday morning damaged several wires due to load related issues and again most of those same customers were without power all day Sunday. A number of businesses were closed for the day.
Entergy says some emergency equipment will be brought in soon so repairs can be made, as well as in preparation for the cold weather predicted at the end of the week.
