Emanuel Taylor was born June 29, 1937, in Vinton, LA to Ora Rayon and Earnest Budwine.
Growing into adulthood, he enlisted in the U.S. Army in Shreveport, LA. Emanuel served in the Korean War. Completing his enlistment he was Discharged With Honors.
He resided in Orange, TX since 1958.
Working years were spent as a Pipefitter at the American Bridge Shipyard, which later became Pittsburgh Steel. He retired in 2000 after 24 years of service.
A member of St. Therese Catholic Church, he was also a member of Council #44 of the Knights of St Peter Claver.
Belonging to Council #44 for more than 50 years, he was the oldest member, and a Life Member of the 100 Club of the Knights of St. Peter Claver.
Emanuel Taylor was also the last Charter Member of the J. C. Guillory American Legion Post #616.
He was also a Life Member of the Disabled American Veteran’s Chapter #27 of Beaumont, TX.
Brother Taylor passed away on May 8th, 2024, at Harbor Hospice in Beaumont, TX.
Forever cherishing his memory is his wife, Sara Fontenot Taylor of Orange, Texas, son, Johnny Simien of Ville Platte, Louisiana, daughters, Tina Prentice (husband Nigel) and Bowana Roulette of Leander, Texas, Ly Pham of Ocean Spring, Mississippi, Chastity Jones of Orange, Texas, Irma Joan Haggerman of Wuppertal, Germany, and Bianca Solomon of Orange, Texas, grandchildren, Andrea Fontenot of Houston, Texas, Vidrick Blackwell of Beaumont, TX, Cedrick Blackwell of Beaumont, TX, Adrianna Taylor of Houston, Texas, Immanuel Chasteau-Simien, Zoe Simien, LaQuasha Grover, Kenai Prentice, and Khalia Prentice, all of Leander, Texas, great grandchildren, Nataly, Malaya, Neira, Tatiana, Nadia, and Avianna Blackwell, all of Beaumont, Texas, Caleigh, Caden, Chloe Blackwell and Jayden Martinez, all of Orange, Texas, Annalyse Taylor of Houston, Texas and London Chasteau-Simien of Leander, Texas, brother, Earnest Budwine, Jr. of Lake Charles, Louisiana, sister Irma Jean Gallien (husband Wilton) of Vinton, Louisiana and sister in laws, Theodora Taylor and True Heart Taylor, both of Vinton, Louisiana, and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loved ones.
Preceding him in death, along with his parents, were his son, Vernandez Taylor of Vinton, Louisiana, daughter, Adreama Blackwell of Orange, Texas, grandson, Christopher Childress of Orange, Texas, brother, Robert Taylor, of Vinton, Louisiana, and sister, Louvetta Thomas of Vinton, Louisiana.
