
Elvina Marie McIntire-White was born on July 6, 1948, in Basile, Louisiana, to Adam McIntire and Viola Wilkes. The family later settled in Orange, Texas, the place she proudly called home for most of her life.
Elvina attended St. Terese Catholic Church, where she made her First Communion and Confirmation. She was a hardworking and devoted woman who took great pride in every job she held. Over the years, she worked at Zack’s Budget Shopper, St. Terese, and Bridge Cleaners, earning the respect and admiration of many for her strong work ethic and warm personality.
She later served as a phlebotomist and worked within the West Orange-Cove ISD, where she was loved by countless students and staff. No matter where she worked, Elvina was known for her kindness, dedication, and genuine care for everyone around her.
Elvina lived her life with purpose and love. As a devoted mother, grandmother, and friend, she believed that true strength comes from kindness and faith. Her laughter and joy will forever echo in the hearts of all who knew her. She touched lives wherever she went, showing that true wisdom, grace, and warmth never fade.
Elvina was preceded in death by her father, Adam McIntire, her mother, Viola Wilkes, and her brothers, Phillip, Oris, Ralph, and Roger Wilkes.
She is lovingly remembered by her two children, Henrietta (Harold) Papilion and Henry (Tonya) Baker, her sisters, Francis Board, Renee Smith, and Elizabeth (Mark) Netherly, her brother Fred Wilkes, along with twelve grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
Her memory will live on through the love she shared, the faith she carried, and the lives she touched.
