Less than a week ago a fire destroyed the El Bethel Missionary Baptist Church on W. Cypress in Orange. Sunday the congregation was able to have service thanks to a friend of Pastor Rickey Guillory.
Wayne Sparrow of Sparrow Funeral Home opened their doors for Pastor Guillory and his churchgoers.
“Its very generous of Mr. Sparrow to open his business for us,” Guillory said. “We’re very appreciative to the churches who reached out to help us but at Sparrow’s we were able to keep our 11am service and our parishioners were able to stay close to home.”
Pastor Guillory said they will be at Sparrow’s through the end of the year as they look for a new location while they rebuild.
