Edna Louise Settle, 94, of Vidor, Texas, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, November 6th, 2024. Born in Orange, Texas, Edna was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family and her faith. She lived most of her life in Vidor, where she became a beloved member of Grace Baptist Church.
A dedicated homemaker, Edna had a special talent for making every moment with family memorable. Her cooking was legendary among her loved ones, and she took great joy in sharing home-cooked meals that brought everyone together. Edna was also an avid crafter, known for her intricate sewing, heartfelt drawings, and creative projects that filled her home with warmth and color. She was known for her spotless housekeeping skills and people often commented “you could eat off of Edna’s floor”!
Edna is survived by her children: Ronald Settle of Vidor, TX; Phyllis Hurlburt of Orem, UT; and Toni Mitchem of Vidor, TX. She also leaves behind her sisters Helen Kasper of Beaumont, TX, and Ann Bailleaux of Vidor, TX, her brother George Horn of Florida, along with nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren who were all dearly loved.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Settle; her son, Michael Settle; her daughter, Pam Burkett; and her brother, Allen Horn.
Edna’s legacy of love, faith, and creativity will be cherished and remembered by all who knew her. Her family finds comfort in the countless memories she leaves behind and the warmth she brought into their lives.
