Easter Lafaye Jefferson-Burnette was born in Gilbert, LA on April 14, 1938 to Mr. William & Sarah Jefferson. She was raised by her grandparents Mr. & Mrs. Frank Lynch.
Easter grew up in Winnsboro, LA and later moved to Orange, TX with her grandparents and four siblings. She later met & married Roy Burnette Sr.
Easter was a woman of faith and she loved the Lord. Easter was a devoted Christian member of The Full Gospel House of Deliverance. Easter always had a smile and a hug for everyone. She was never a woman to complain and she would give you her last. She was a gentle soul. Easter was loved by many and will be greatly missed.
Easter is preceded in death by her husband Roy Burnette Sr., daughter, Amanda Kiser, grandson, Denzel Jackson, granddaughter, Roykeisha Burnette and brother, John Jefferson Sr.
Easter leaving to cherish & carry on her legacy sons, Billy Burrell of Orange, TX; Roy Burnette Jr. (Melanie) of Killeen, TX; Johnny Burrell (Alma) of Port Arthur, TX; Clyde Burnette of Orange, TX; daughters, Gwen Burnette of Beaumont, TX; Sarah Lowe (Willie) & Brenda Traylor of Orange, TX; sisters, Hannah Majors (Joe) & Rosia May Scott of Houston, TX; brother, William Jefferson of Orange, TX; 17 Grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, family, & friends.
Home going celebration will be Saturday May 20, 2023 at Starlight Church Of God In Christ located at 2800 Bob Hall Rd. Service time is 11:00 am. Visitation begins at 9:30 am until time of service. Interment will follow at Magnolia Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Orange.
