
Orange County on Thursday surpassed 10,000 early votes, even though the voting slowed. The county now has a total of 10,354 votes cast for the November 6 general election with seven more days of early voting.
The county early voting will continue Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Next week, voting at the four sites will be Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except Tuesday, which has extended hours of 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
On Thursday, the county added a total of 1,589 votes, with 1,510 in person and 79 by mail. The site results are 505 at the Orange Public Library, 334 at the Bridge City Public Works Building, 481 at the Raymond Gould Community Center in Vidor, and 190 at the Mauriceville Volunteer Fire Department.
The West Orange-Cove school district is having a bond election for $25.75 million. Another 184 ballots were added Thursday in that election for a total of 1,430. Voters in the district must go to the Orange Public Library for early voting.
