Rumors circulating about Bridge City Athletic Director/Head Football Coach Dwayne Dubois leaving his alma mater to go back to Hardin-Jefferson in the same position were proven true on Wednesday when the school said it has an opening for AD/Hd Football Coach.
Dubois later confirmed on Facebook today that he was taking the job at Hardin-Jefferson.
“After much prayer, with consideration of those around me and those in authority above me, it is with deep humility that I announce my intent to resign my position as Athletic Director and Head Football Coach of Bridge City, Texas. My wife and I will be moving to Sour Lake to serve, together, the students and community of Hardin-Jefferson ISD as I move into the role of AD/Head FB Coach.”
Dubois replaces Jared Sloan, who left after three seasons to take the same position with the Rice Consolidated School District.
Dubois was at HJ for two years, taking them to the playoffs both seasons, before joining BC in 2015. He leaves BC with a 17-14 record.
Congratulations Beaver. Best of luck to you and your family.
BC will definitely miss the blessing of the DuBois Family! Thank you so much for the way you poured into the lives of teenagers. I wish you the very best as you go back to HJ!
