The National Prescription Drug Take Back Day will be held at the City of Orange Police Department, located at 201 8th Street, on Saturday, April 28, from 10 A.M. to 2 P.M.
Turn in your unused or expired prescription medication for safe disposal.
Pills can be dropped off, no questions asked. Liquids and needles cannot be accepted.
The goal of the campaign is to make sure that prescription pills don’t fall into the wrong hands and end up leading to addiction.
According to the 2015 National Survey on Drug Use and Health, 6.4 million Americans abused controlled prescription drugs. The study shows that a majority of abused prescription drugs were obtained from family and friends, often from the home medicine cabinet.
