On Sunday, March 22, 2026, at approximately 10:43 a.m., Deputy Brent Sonnier conducted a traffic stop on a four-wheeler on Indian Lake Road (CR4213). During the stop, Deputy Sonnier made contact with the operator, identified as Magdaleno Huerta.
While speaking with Huerta, Deputy Sonnier observed a cellophane baggie lying on the footrest, partially concealed under Huerta’s foot. The baggie contained a crystal-like substance believed to be methamphetamine.
Huerta was placed under arrest and transported to the Newton County Jail, where he was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance.
