The Commissioners Court is seeking input from multiple sources to deal with and improve the drainage in Orange County. The Court has scheduled two workshops on Thursday at different times to allow as much participation as possible to discuss the drainage issue in the county.
County Judge Dean Crooks informed that representatives from all the municipalities, the drainage district, Parks and Wildlife, TxDOT, the Corps of Engineers, emergency management, and the county are expected to attend at least one of the two workshops. Crooks believes drainage is the biggest issue facing Orange County keeping businesses and citizens from moving to the county. “This is our infrastructure monster, and we’re going to work with our community to try to make it better,” Crooks promised.
The workshops are also scheduled at different locations. The first workshop will be Thursday morning at 10:00 in the Commissioners Courtroom of the Administration Building at the Courthouse in Orange. The second workshop will be Thursday evening at 6:30 in the Orange County Convention and Expo Center located on FM 1442. The public is invited to attend either one of the workshops or to attend both.
