Douglas Wayne Harvey, 48 of Buna passed away Saturday, July 30, 2022.
Born in Beaumont, Texas on June 10, 1974, he was energetic, full of life, and what most would call a gentle giant. He spent his school days playing football and soccer, where he learned discipline and made lifelong friendships. His love for football never ceased; he went on to coach his son’s little league team and may easily be the biggest Texas Longhorn fan you’d ever meet. After high school, Doug went straight to work at Huntsman Corp. where he made his career of 30 years.
Doug had a kind heart and a busy body. He found joy in many hobbies, took interest in a wide range of movies & shows, and loved anything that had to do with history. From WWll to his own genealogy, he relished in learning about the past. Doug spent lots of time working on & building hot rods, and he never missed the chance to take a road trip or vacation. He made many great memories with his family riding buggies and exploring the country. He was never known to take the easy route or the path of least resistance, and that made for a lot of belly laughs and stories to tell.
Doug was preceded in death by his father, Randall Wayne Harvey and grandparents.
Left to carry on his name and honor his memory are his twin children, Madison and Kaleb Harvey, 19 of Gist; their mom, Melissa Harvey of Gist; mother, Janies Tousha and husband Tom of Call Junction; brothers, Chris Harvey and wife Amber of Gist, Luke Harvey and wife Melanie of Beaumont and sister, Randi Daigle and husband Rusty of Brookeland. Doug also leaves behind 5 nieces and 2 nephews. Funeral service will be held Sunday, August 7, 2022 at 2 pm at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Buna with burial at Antioch Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 1 pm prior to service.
