Rosie the dog is very friendly. She was adopted by Lacey Hale when she was housed at the Lake Charles Animal Shelter only three months old. Rosie will be ten years old on May 15th. She enjoys her walks on St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church grounds where she loves chasing squirrels and taking naps.
She is such an interesting dog that Lacey’s friend, Ricky Deville, wrote a book about her rescue. Lacey illustrated the book. Rosie loves children and people in general. She is in training to become a therapy dog.
Rosie visited St. Mary Catholic School Kindergarten class. Mrs. Susie Thompson is the teacher and Lacey’s mother (Dayle Gunn Weatherford) works with Thompson. Weatherford read the book about her “granddog” to the class. The students thoroughly enjoyed the book and especially Rosie’s visit. Hopefully, she will return for more visits!
Hale brings Rosie to The Sabine Place where the residents love her.
