Members of the Deweyville Band were awarded positions in the ATSSB All Region Band. These students competed against band members from area schools in classifications 1A-4A. Earning a chair in the Middle School Band was: Samantha Hatcher, 5th chair clarinet and Riley Wright, 14th chair flute. Earning 1st alternate positions for the Middle School Band was: MiCayla Brown, alto saxophone and Conner Dehn, trumpet. High School Region Band members are: Tilman Strickland, 4th chair alto saxophone; Layne Dunbar, 4th chair tuba; Madison McFarland, 8th chair alto saxophone and Cierra Jackson, 10th chair flute. The All Region band concert will be held on Saturday, January 25 at 5:00pm in the Silsbee High School auditorium.
Students advancing to the Area Band competition are: Carlin Bailey, trombone as well as Tilman, Layne and Cierra. These students will audition for the ATSSB All State Band on Saturday, January 11 at Chapel Hill High School in Tyler.
