Davis Joseph Deville, 86, passed away peacefully on Monday, January 6th, 2025, at St. Patrick’s Hospital in Lake Charles, LA. A longtime resident of Mauriceville, TX, Davis was a proud veteran who served his country in the Korean War with the U.S. Army.
After his military service, Davis worked as a pipefitter with Local Union 195 and retired after more than 30 years of dedicated service. Davis was involved with the Catholic Church at Saint Maurice where he was a parishioner for over 40 years. He was a man of many talents and passions, including woodworking, a craft he perfected over the years, creating cherished pieces for his loved ones. Davis also had a deep love for dancing, where his lively spirit would shine, and he found joy in being outdoors, especially tending to his beautiful garden, he also loved to farm and raise animals. His family was his greatest treasure, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Davis is survived by his son, Kenneth Deville of Beaumont, TX, and numerous nieces and nephews who will miss him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his beloved spouse, Melba Irene Deville, and his daughter, Jessica Germaine Deville. He is also reunited with his parents, Lessie and Marie Deville, and his siblings, Verna Fontenot, Dalvin Deville, Mary Hollier, Jimmy Deville, and Robby Deville.
Davis’s legacy of love, laughter, and craftsmanship will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
