David Stuart Duhon, age 56, formerly of Orange, died April 22, 2017 at his residence in Westlake, Louisiana.
Stuart was born July 28, 1960, in Orange to the late CJ and Dolores Duhon. He graduated from West Orange-Stark High School, then joined the United States Navy in 1979 as a Gunner’s Mate and was stationed in Charleston, South Carolina. He received the Navy Expeditionary Medal and the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon.
Stuart graduated from Sowela Technical Community College in Lake Charles, Louisiana, where he received three Associates of Applied Technology degrees. He enjoyed tinkering on computers, reading, and visiting with his family and friends.
Stuart married Beverly Ann Pickell May 21, 1997.
Preceding Stuart in death were his sweet wife Beverly, his parents CJ and Dolores Duhon, his sister Geri Ann Duhon, his uncle Richard Free, and grandparents Nelson Hamer and Josephine Free of Orange.
David Stuart is survived by his brother, Clarence Joseph “Joey” Duhon (wife Beverly), their children Sarah Duhon Briggs (husband Joshua Briggs) children Gavin and Annalise, Erik Duhon (wife Ellie), children Harley and Scarlett all of Orange; and sister Jacqui Duhon of Albany, Oregon.
A small service will be held May 26, 2017, at 2:30 p.m. at the Central Louisiana Veterans Cemetery in Leesville, Louisiana, under the direction of the Lakeside Funeral Home. His ashes will be interred in the Memorial Wall on the grounds of the cemetery.
