
David Henry Spiers, 81, of Kirbyville died peacefully Monday, October 17, 2022 at Baptist Hospital in Beaumont.
Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Wednesday, October 19, at Adams EE Stringer Funeral Home in Kirbyville with burial at Beulah Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
David was born April 7, 1941 to Ulysses Spiers and Claira Marie (Mitchell) Spiers. A graduate of Stark High School in Orange, Texas he was longtime resident of Kirbyville and was retired from Jasper-Newton Electric Coop. He was a Korean Conflict U.S. Army Veteran.
David was a longtime member of Erin Missionary Baptist Church and Mount Zion Missionary Baptist Church, faithfully serving as a Deacon for many years. He was an avid outdoorsman, and spent countless hours hunting and fishing in lakes and woods of East Texas.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 62 years, Bonnie Spiers of Kirbyville; children, Christina Zieglien and husband Mike of Mississippi; Mark Spiers and wife Martha of Lufkin; and Lorie Adams and husband Michael of Kirbyville; sisters, Jeannette Eakin and husband Tim and Martha “Cookie” Warden and husband Donald; 15 grandchildren, Lee Midkiff and Nikki; Brent Midkiff and Alicia; Krystal Stineff and Blaine; Jalee Y’Barbo; Breann Y’Barbo; Jeremy Belschner and Leigh; Brandon Spiers and Rachal; Bradlee Adams and Holly; Mikey Adams; Zoey Adams, Shelby Adams, Harlee Adams, Bella Adams, Khyli Adams, and Marlee Adams; 22 great grandchildren, Cameron Midkiff, Tristan Midkiff, Makenzie Midkiff, Chloe Midkiff, Abbyn Midkiff, Sylas Midkiff, Hattie Midkiff, Forrest Midkiff, Dallas Bond, Brookelyn Stineff, Ayden Stineff, Austin Belschner, Hunter Belschner, Adalyn Belschner, Haegan Belschner, Brayden Spiers, Karson Spiers, Matthew Robbins, Angela Riley, Brodee Adams, Emelia Adams and Oaklee Adams.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ulysses and Claira Marie Spiers; and several aunts and uncles including Tempie Dockstader.
