
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved David Franklin Cook, who departed this world on March 26, 2025, at the age of 82.
David was born on July 17, 1942, in Jacksonville, Texas to the late George Franklin Cook and Frances Elizabeth Lightsey Cook.
David is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Helen Patricia White Cook; his children, Howard Franklin Cook, Patricia Martin (Johnny) of Mauriceville, Texas, Kenneth Stanley (Lee) of Vidor, Texas, and Cherie Cox (Shane) of Lewisburg, Tennessee; 14 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; and 1 great great grandchild; siblings, John Cook (Judy) and Mary Katherine Cook Corn (Homer); and 3 nieces.
David was a retired union welder/pipe-fitter. He was a train enthusiast, and he also enjoyed baseball and basketball. He was an avid animal lover, especially his dogs and cat (Cookie). Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, April 2, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Providence Cemetery in Jacksonville, Texas.
Our family would like to thank everyone for their continued prayers, thoughts, and support during this most difficult time. David was greatly loved and will be greatly missed, but he will be forever cherished in our hearts.
