David Anthony Lavine was born at Little Rock Air Force Base on December 8, 1970, and passed away February 25, 2026, at the age of 55.
David was a man with the biggest heart and an unforgettable sense of humor. He had a way of making everyone laugh, even on their hardest days. His quick wit, playful spirit, and warm smile could light up any room, and his stories, often told with a twinkle in his eye, will be cherished forever.
Known by many as a true “jack of all trades,” David could fix just about anything. If something was broken, he was the first person you called. As a trusted and beloved community handyman, he generously shared his time and talents with anyone in need. Whether it was repairing a roof, fixing a car, or lending a hand with a project, he never hesitated to show up. He didn’t just fix things, he lifted spirits and strengthened the bonds of his community.
He found his greatest peace in the outdoors. David loved to hunt, fish, and spend time surrounded by nature. Whether sitting quietly by the water at sunrise or heading out before dawn for hunting season, he felt most at home under an open sky. The outdoors wasn’t just a hobby for him, it was where he created memories with family and friends that will last a lifetime.
Above all else, David was a man who would help anyone. He believed in showing up, working hard, and treating people with kindness and respect. His generosity knew no bounds, and his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched through simple acts of goodness.
He is survived by his parents, David and Candy Lavine; sister, Stacey Lavine and partner Bruce Fontenot; nieces and nephews, Anastasia Gibson and husband Stephen, Brittany Stevison and partner Scott Spell, Austin Stevison, Shawn Bean, Jr., and Mya Gibson; great nieces and nephews, Braxton, Rico, Laeton, Elizabeth Mae “Lizzy”, Millie, and Miles; and along with numerous extended family and friends.
He is preceded by his grandparents, Millard and Bea Lavine of Hartburg, Texas, and Harrison and June Land of Bridge City, Texas.
Cremation was entrusted to Dorman-Riley Smith & Sons Funeral Home.
