Dana Joe Robnett, age 63, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at his home in Orange, Texas. Services will be at 2:30 PM on Sunday, February 19, 2017 at Victory Bible Baptist Church with Brother Mike Granger and Brother Carl Green officiating. Interment will follow at Autumn Oaks Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 9:00 PM on Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Dorman Funeral Home.
Dana was born on January 29, 1954 to Ira Faye Dehart and Joe L. Robnett in Orange, Texas. Dana retired after 43 years of service from Dupont Sabine River Works on December 31, 2016 as a Lab Analyst and Production Supervisor.
Dana had been a Texas Peace Officer for 32 years and 7 months, 28 years and 3 months have been with the Pinehurst Police Department as a part time police officer. Chief Fred R. Hanauer III stated that Officer Robnett was exactly what Pinehurst expected in a police officer. His even temper, education of the law and Christian approach to the job enabled Officer Robnett to accomplish tasks other officers may find difficult. He will be greatly missed by the entire law enforcement community.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe L. and Ira Faye Robnett.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years Sandra Robnett of Orange, TX. Two daughters, Jana Robnett Owens and her husband Mike of Orange, TX and Jessica Robnett Deason and her husband Christopher of Floresville, TX. Mother-in-law, Ruth Armstreet. Two brothers, Larry Robnett and Ricky Robnett both of Orange, TX. A sister, Susan Peveto of Orange, TX. Four grandchildren; Katlyn Owens, Colin Joe Deason, Bryce Deason and Elsie Deason. His “Hunting Wife”, Ricky Parker, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and close friends.
Pallbearers will be Brian Armstreet, Ricky Parker, Blake Peveto, Nathan Robnett, Casey Armstreet and David Barrett. Honorary pallbearers will be Darrel Armstreet, Christopher Deason, Mike Owens, Bryce Deason, Katlyn Deason, Colin Joe Deason and Elsie Deason.
