Dana Daveyne Trussell,
age 61, of Orange, Texas, passed away Saturday, December 14, 2019. A memorial service
to honor Dana’s life will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, December 23, 2019 at Calvary
Baptist Church in Deweyville, Texas, with Pastor John Fortenberry officiating. Arrangements
for cremation were made under the direction of Dorman Funeral Home.
Dana was born on Saturday, June 14, 1958 in
Orange, Texas to parents, Daveyne (Parrish) Queen and Elmer Lee Queen. Dana was
a wonderful woman that was truly one of a kind and was very loved by everyone
she met along the way. She was a very familiar face to everyone while working
for the Orange Country Club for many years. Dana met the love of her life when
she came to know Carl Trussell, Jr. The couple shared 45 blissful years
together. She was a lover of the mountains and Yellowstone National Park and
was fortunate enough to see and enjoy many of those places while traveling with
her husband. She also thoroughly enjoyed spending time at the couple’s duck
camp in Anahuac, Texas, where she spent countless hours fishing for catfish on
the dock. She was also known to be an excellent cook and caretaker for anyone
and everyone, but especially her loving husband. She also loved to sit on the
back porch of her daughter’s house at the lake while visiting and enjoy life.
She was an example of what a good wife, mother and mimi should be. Dana loved
being a mimi so much that it became her favorite and most important title she
ever earned. Dana was a daughter, wife, mother, sister, grandmother and friend,
who will forever be loved and missed by all who knew her.
Dana is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Carl Trussell, Jr.; daughters, Jaimee Trussell as well as, Michelle Taylor and Trey Johnson; brothers, Mike Queen and wife Melanie, as well as, Gentry Queen and wife Renee; sister, Vicki Lothrop and husband Mike; mother-in-law, Lenna Trussell; brother-in-law, Marvin Trussell; grandchildren, Carli Johnson, Hunter Hooks and Gage Trussell; nieces and nephews, Mindy Moody, Angela Cheatwood, Chris Guillory, Brandi Guillory, Joey Queen, Nicole Queen, Chris Lothrop, Marshall Lothrop and Dillon Queen.
