Cynthia Ray, 58, of Orange, passed away on December 31, 2021, in Port Arthur. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, January 6, at Maranatha Christian Center in Orange. Burial will follow at Orange Forest Lawn Cemetery in West Orange. Visitation will be from 5:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, at Claybar Funeral Home in Orange. Born in Orange, Texas, on March 13, 1963, she was the daughter of Donald Edward Smith and Melba Maxine Klock. Cynthia was a faithful member of Maranatha Christian Center and loved worshiping God. She was known for making sure things were kept in order and always taken care of in a timely manner. Cynthia enjoyed shopping and all things fancy and bling. Her family was the most important thing in her life, and she loved spending time with them. Cynthia left an impact on many lives and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald Smith and Melba Klock; loving stepfather, Lionel Klock; brother, Donnie Smith; and daughter, Miracle Joy. She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Daniel Ray; children, Danielle Nicole Blinka and husband Aaron of Houston, Benjamin “Ben” Edward Ray of Bridge City, and Leah Lenee Hicks, whom she considered a daughter; siblings, Donna Jean Howland and husband Marty and Sonny Crew and wife Amy; her fur babies that she loved dearly; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Serving as pallbearers will be Ben Ray, Aaron Blinka, Jeremy Howland, Hank Fontenot, Jordan Hicks, and Zach Hicks.
