Cyclist Struck On 16th St.

A man riding a bicycle was struck by a vehicle on 16th St. in Orange Friday evening.

First responders got the call around 6:20pm. Witnesses said a man on a bike was leaving the Get N Go Convenience Store in the Putnam Plaza and crossing 16th St. A Toyota Corolla struck the cyclist and then stopped.

The cyclist was conscious and alert and had a head injury. He was transported by EMS to a Beaumont hospital for treatment.

The driver of the vehicle was seen being placed in handcuffs at the scene.
