Born in Orange, Texas, on March 1, 1953, he was the son of Curtis Joseph LaFleur and Leola Mae LaFleur. Curtis dedicated a substantial portion of his career as a logistics operator for Texas Polymer. After retiring, he found joy in driving the county bus, a role that allowed him to connect with and serve his community in a different capacity. Outside of work, Curtis had a profound love for music, particularly the guitar, which he learned to play by ear. He also had a talent for baking and was known for his homemade bread, rolls, and cinnamon rolls. Everyone thought the mess made in the kitchen was worth it since his creations were so delicious. A devoted sports fan, Curtis had a soft spot for the Dallas Cowboys, sharing his enthusiasm for the team with family and friends. His warmth and spirited personality earned him affection from many, especially his grandchildren, who lovingly referred to him as “PawPaw.” As a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Orange, Curtis was actively involved in his faith community. Curtis will be deeply missed, remembered as a truly good guy who made a positive impact in the lives of so many. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know him.
