Mauriceville was designated as the “Crawfish Capital of Texas” by the Texas Legislature in 1981. The original Mauriceville Crawfish Festival Association, established in 1981, was committed to showcasing our unique culture and raise funds to establish recreational areas for or youth as well as assist our local emergency services. Thirty-eight years later, the name has changed but we have stayed true to our vision to continually support smaller non-profits and our community. The Bash is presented by Top Deck, INC., and sponsored in part by many local businesses. Sponsors can be found on our “sponsors” page at www.crawfishfest.org as well as information on becoming a Bash sponsor.
Chris Sowell, Mauriceville Heritage Associating President, says: ‘The Mauriceville Crawfish Bash is one of the few places in the state where masses of Crawfish enthusiasts, families, and culture lovers, gather
year after year to experience this great tradition”.
