On August 23, 2019 at 3:03 PM, Officers with the City of Orange Police Department were dispatched to the Highway 87 South in Orange, just in front of the Orange County Airport, in reference to a major traffic accident involving two motor vehicles.
During the investigation it was determined a white male driver of a 2015 Ford F-250, towing a trailer loaded with a tractor, was traveling south on Highway 87, while two occupants of a 2004 Chevrolet Coupe were exiting the private drive of Orange County Justice of the Peace Joy Dubose Simonton after they were married at the judge’s office. The 2015 Chevrolet sustained major damage and both occupants were pronounced deceased on scene by Judge Simonton. The driver of the Chevrolet was identified as a 19 year old white male, Harley Morgan. The passenger was identified as a 20 year old white female, Rhiannon Boudreaux, both from Vidor. The driver of the Ford F-250 was not injured in the crash. Traffic in the area was shut down for almost four hours.
The incident is under investigation by the Detective Division of the Orange Police Department.
