Hundreds of law enforcement officers from Southeast Texas, family and friends said goodbye to Precinct Two Constable David Cagle Thursday. Cagle died Monday of a heart attack. He was 57.
Services were held at North Orange Baptist Church with a procession through town and past a large American flag that was flown by Gilbeaux’s Towing. Burial was held at Hillcrest Cemetery on Hwy. 87 near Bridge City with Bridge City Mayor David Rutledge playing the bagpipes.
After graduating from Bridge City High School, Cagle spent more than forty years in law enforcement and serving his community.
Orange County Commissioners will name a replacement for Cagle to fill his term at a later date.
