
Cade Cogbill, a student at Mauriceville MS qualified to represent Texas at the National Jr. High Rodeo Finals after competing last week in Gonzales, Tx. at the Texas State Finals. He competed in chute dogging, goat tying, calf roping, & ribbon calf roping. He placed 4th in the state in chute dogging & 5th in the state in boys goat tying. Each state only allows the top 4 contestants to represent their home state at the National Finals. He competed throughout the week with 3 runs in each event, the top 4 in each event will move onto Nationals. In Texas he competed against 77 boys to win this top spot. Texas is the toughest state to qualify for Nationals due to the number of contestants, many other smaller states only have 20 or less boys in each event but still bring the top 4 to nationals.
