Clyde “Langston” Frederick, 88, of Orange, Texas, passed away on November 21, 2024, in Beaumont, Texas.
A graveside service and interment will be held at 11:00 a.m., November 25, 2024, at Deweyville Cemetery in Deweyville, Texas.
Born in Nacogdoches, Texas, on July 24, 1936, he was the son of Clyde Lee Frederick and Dollie Lunsford Frederick. Langston was a beloved husband, father, papa and friend to many. He served in the United States Army from November 24, 1954, to November 22, 1957, as a Quartermaster in the 6th HQ Battery. Langston started his law enforcement career in Nacogdoches in 1960. He then moved to Orange, where he worked for the Orange Police Department from January 1, 1962, to March 31, 1995. He retired as a captain. Langston was a true friend and well-respected officer. He touched many people in the community. He was a longtime member of Cornerstone Baptist Church that his father founded many years ago. Langston enjoyed fishing, playing pool, mowing the grass and spending time with his family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clyde and Dollie Frederick; his loving wife of almost 62 years, Margie Frederick; his daughter, Michelle Greenwell; his brothers, Robert Frederick, Charles Frederick, LC Frederick; and his sister, Earlene Marze.
He is survived by his daughter, Lois Frederick; his grandchildren, Heather McLaughlin and husband Luis, Kayleigh Hester and husband Michael, and T.J. Greenwell and wife Aliza; his great grandchildren, Evelyn Hester and Harlow Hester; his sister, Maxine Bonner; and numerous other loving family and friends.
